Magnetic Fields
The Garner TS-1 and TS-1XT degaussers (hereafter TS-1) produce a single focused magnetic pulse lasting less than 50 milliseconds. The focused intensity allows the TS-1 to erase today’s highest coercivity media, while also limiting the magnetic field exposure to 1 second for every 20 pieces of media degaussed. A person operating the TS-1 continuously for 8 hours would be exposed to less than 1% of the recommended magnetic field limit as identified by the leading authority, the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH).

The Average Operational Distance (AOD) from the TS-1 operator to the front of the unit is 12-18 in. (30-45 cm). The ACGIH recommends that whole-body exposure to continuous static magnetic fields be limited to 600 gauss for an 8-hour shift.¹ A person operating the TS-1 continuously for 8 hours would be exposed to less than 1% of the recommended limit because of the short duration of each pulse from the TS-1 (50 milliseconds) and the extremely small magnetic field outside of the unit (<40gauss, AOD).

A smartphone emits 240 gauss while playing music or on a call. Earbuds that come with a typical phone or music player emit over 200 gauss for each earbud. The higher quality of the earbud speaker, the more gauss emitted due to the higher quality of the speaker magnets. The phone and earbud speakers are continuous fields whereas the TS-1 field is only on for 1/20th of a second per 45-second cycle for the TS-1 and 15-second cycle for the TS-1XT. The TS-1’s magnetic field exposure does not approach the magnetic field levels individuals are exposed to on a daily basis when using common personal items.

Local Manufacturer Receives President’s “E” Award for U.S. Exporting Achievements
ROSEVILLE, CA –– Garner Products, Inc., a manufacturer in Roseville and designer of NSA-listed hard drive degaussers and physical hard drive destroyers, is proud to announce that U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Wilber Ross presented Garner Products with the President’s “E” Award for Exports at a ceremony in Washington, D.C., on May 23, 2019. The President’s “E” Award is the highest recognition that any United States entity can receive for its ongoing significant contributions to the expansion of U.S. exports.
“Garner Products has demonstrated a sustained commitment to export expansion. The “E” Awards Committee was very impressed with Garner Products’ product modifications to support increased international sales. The company’s presence in approximately 85 countries was also particularly notable. Garner Products’ achievements have undoubtedly contributed to national export expansion efforts that support the U.S. economy and create American jobs,” said Secretary Ross in his congratulatory letter to the company announcing its selection.
“We want to thank the U.S. Department of Commerce. We’re extremely honored and grateful for this recognition and for being presented this prestigious award.” said Ronald Stofan, president of Garner Products. “I’d also like to thank Garner’s hard-working and dedicated team members and business partners whose efforts have made our international expansion possible.”
In 2018, U.S. exports were the highest on record with U.S. services at $821.1 billion and U.S. exports of goods reaching $1.7 trillion, demonstrating how American private enterprise can not only survive, but thrive, in the international market.
In total, Secretary Ross honored 48 U.S. companies from across the country with the President’s “E” Award for Exports for their role in strengthening the U.S. economy by sharing American ingenuity outside of our borders.

The Garner TS-1XT NSA Listed degausser, an NSA Listed high security degausser, delivers 20,000 gauss (2 tesla) to completely erase hard drives in under 15 seconds. Compact and portable, the TS-1XT can be transported to the location of the media for on-site erasure.
PD-5 NSA Listed Destroyer
The Garner PD-5 HDD destroyer is NSA Listed as a hard drive destruction device. The PD-5 crushes hard drives in under 20 seconds, including the latest helium (He) drives. The PD-5 also provides visual confirmation of destruction after magnetic drives have been degaussed.
Add the optional SSD-1 solid state destroyer (a platform of 90 spikes to puncture, perforate and waffle media) to destroy solid state drives. Solid state drives are not magnetic and cannot be degaussed.
HD-2XT Degausser
The Garner HD-2XT high-speed degausser is economical and durable. It generates 10,000+ gauss (1 tesla) for complete hard drive data elimination in only 8 seconds. The HD-2XT is portable, lightweight (34 lbs.) and office quiet.
HD-3XTL Bulk Degausser
The Garner HD-3XTL bulk degausser is also a 10,000 gauss degausser and degausses in only 3 seconds. The oversized media slot can accommodate hard drives up to 1.7 inches high. Inserting the media into the media slot automatically initiates the degauss cycle.
IRONCLAD Erasure and Destruction Verification
Garner’s exclusive IRONCLAD erasure and destruction verification system. IRONCLAD creates customizable certificates of erasure and destruction, complete with JPG images of the media after destruction, providing proof the media was properly sanitized. All Garner Products are IRONCLAD compatible.

The new HD-2XT with 10,000 Gauss provides complete data erasure in ~7 seconds. The HD-2XT, specifically for office and data center use, is designed to improve operator throughput and efficiency in today’s fast-paced data security industry.
